Creating New Group
Once users are created and devices are assigned to users then, we can group these users under different groups or departments in your company. To create a new group, client admin has to navigate [Control Manager] -> [Groups] tab and click on [Create Group] button.
Basic Info for creating new groups
Basic info for setting up new group is as follows:
Group Name
Admin should provide a name for the group.
Extension for Group
Admin should assign an extension to the group. The extension assigned should be unique
Adding Members to Group
New members can be added to the group by dragging and dropping users from available users to selected users.
Once the group is created, the group will be listed in the group listings page. To configure a group, select one group so that the group’s details will be displayed on the right side.
Group Settings
Select a user form the list and the selected users details will be displayed on the group tab.
Editing Group Name
Admin can click on the group name so that he can edit the group name.
Call Distribution
Distribute button in members tab will allow admin user to evenly distribute calls among the users. Also admin can drag and adjust the slider to set how the call should ring to each member in the group.
Group Extension
Admin can click on the extension number it will allow admin to add more extension or remove extensions to the group. Admin has to click on save changes to see the newly added/ deleted extensions.
Groups Phone Number
Admin can assign external DIDs to the group, if the account has spare numbers in the list. So there will be a direct number to which a group can associated.
Group Features
Ring Back
Admin can set a media files which would be set as a ring back announcement when a call comes into the group.
Next Action
If no one answers the call in the group, admin can forward the call to an existing user/ voicemail by using this feature.
Allow Call Forward
Enable this option if you want to allow this group’s users to press their device “Forward” button to forward a call from this ring group. If this option is disabled, it will ignore the user’s command.
Caller ID Prepend
Admin can add Caller ID Name and Number which would help the users to identify if the call is a group call.
